Petra was established around 6th century BC and is famous for its magnificent rock cut architecture and water conduit systems. Petra is located in the large valley that runs between the Gulf of Aqaba and the Dead Sea. Petra is located on the slope of Mount Hor on a basin in the eastern flank of Arabah. In 1985, Petra was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Petra has been named one of the must see wonders of the world by several different groups and organizations including UNESCO and the BBC. Petra is an absolutely amazing site to see.
