Nazareth, Israel
Of all the cities in the northern district of Israel, Nazareth is the biggest. It is currently the “Arab capital of Israel.” Most of the population of Nazareth are Arab Israeli citizens. Modern Nazareth is a bowl shaped area that has spans about 600 feet from the bottom of the bowl to the crest.
The current population of Nazareth is about 65,000. Of those inhabitants, about 30% are Christian and the other 70% are Muslim. Nazareth is currently an extemely high-tech Arab area. Currently, there are about 15 large Arab run high-tech companies in Nazareth.
Nazareth is most famously known as the childhood residence of Jesus. As such, Nazareth is a huge Christian Pilgrimage site and there are wonderful cultural, historical, and biblical places to see and visit. Nazareth is home to over 20 churches and monasteries. Some of the most popular places to visit in Nazareth include Church of the Annunciation, Mary’s Well, and The Jesus Trail. The Jesus Trail connects many of the most popular sites in Nazareth.
