Christian’s Of Many Denominations Unite To Pray In Israel

Christian's Pray The Rosary Together

Yesterday began the “Week Of Prayer For Christian Unity” in Jerusalem. This prayer week was started with a group effort between the Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, and Protestant churches and has grown to include many Christian denominations and non-denominational Christian churches.

The past has brought much hostility and argument about doctrine, proper Christian practices, and worship style. However, things are changing in the Christian community and believers are uniting to pray for and focus on unification and truly becoming one body in Christ.

Prayer Unites Believers

The “Week Of Prayer For Christian Unity” event meets at a different church or venue daily to pray for unification. This group decided to focus on Jerusalem as the location of this unity prayer week because this is the place Jesus initially prayed for unification of believers over 2000 years ago.

5pm – Tuesday – January 24, 2012 ~ Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Jerusalem’s Old City (near Holy Sepulcher)

5pm – Wednesday – January 25, 2012 ~ Latin Patriarchate’s Church near Jaffa Gate of Jerusalem’s Old City

Join The Unification and Pray

If you are currently in or around Jerusalem and would like to join in on the prayer, the schedule is listed above. If you are not in Jerusalem, remember this is Christian Unification Week. Remember to pray for unification and unite in fellowship with other believers this week to pray for one body of Christ!
