As a Christian owned and operated tour company, we believe in giving back to the community we live and work in. For us, the wonderful place we call home is Israel. God calls us all to tithe, give offerings, support the less fortunate, and give back to our communities. We take this call very seriously. Elijah Tours and Travel gives 10% of all of our profits back to our community. These are the organizations we regularly partner with and support.
Chabad Children of Chernobyl ( CCOC) provides medical relief to the children affected by the Chernobyl disaster. CCOC regularly evaculates children in harms way and permanently relocates them to Israel. Here they are given permanent residency and all of their medical needs are provided for. In Chernobyl, cancer and other radiation-related illnesses are on the rise, and CCOC strives to airlift as many children as possible to safety as often as possible. To date, CCOC has evacuated 2,783 children on 95 different flights.
CCOC facilities provide these children with food, housing, clothing, education and medical care. Each medical condition is treated by specialists at hospitals throughout Israel. These wonderful children are also provided with vitamin supplements, psychological help, camp opportunities, educational tutoring, and tender loving care.
SOS Children’s Village, Bethlehem, West Bank, operates 12 homes in a peaceful neighborhood for house mothers and orphaned children. Each house mother is a professional child care provider who bonds with each child brought into the home. Biological brothers and sisters stay together within the SOS group of homes. Other children in the home learn to love and interact with one another, as siblings.
The mother is given a monthly stipend to purchases home goods, food, and clothing. Each home has its own rhythm and feel, as each is uniquely run by the house mother. The community offers a game room, counseling center, class room, and playground. There is also a home on site for the program director.
