Annual Food Festival in Jezreel Valley Kicked Off This Week
Jezreel Valley hosts an outdoor food festival every year. This 10-day outdoor extravaganza began on Sunday, February 5, 2012. Many of the people residing in Jezreel Valley follow a passionate Zionist ideology. Jezreel Valley is a region full of culture, delight and flavor.
There are 19 different restaurants participating in the Jezreel Valley Food Festival this year. Patrons are able to experience the flavors of this region by sampling different gourmet specialties and wines provided by these restaurants at significantly discounted prices. This event allows patrons to experience magnificent food mixed with a variety of culture, history, and theology.
This spectacular festival known by locals as ‘Te’amim Ba’amakim’ is the eighth annual event of its kind. This event occurs during ‘Tu Bishvat,’ which is a time when the flowers in the region begin to bloom and the Valley pops with amazing color and tantalizing fragrances. The Jezreel Valley food festival was started by a group of locals to increase tourism of residents from around the country.
Jezreel Valley is a resting point for many tourists traveling farther north. However, there are many awesome experiences in this area for cultural travelers. Those looking to enjoy nature can participate in a biking tour of the Kishon and Tzipori rivers. Nature lovers also have the option of visiting Israel’s first biosphere, as named by UNESCO, located just outside the Valley.
